Reduce car population ? Knn COE $17,000 , must jack the COE to
$30,000 then can effectively reduce the car population , they want
money , they don't want to say ?

Taxi to get people not to drive ? KNN with that 35% peak hour
surcharge , and $17,000 COE , i also prefer to drive sia .

Hey , dun listen to the useless person , he talk cock sing song
only .....

knn don't see their message not blood boil , see liao damn dulan
.

you gotta understand, some yrs back they reduced e COE &
road tax. But they jacked up the ERP rates.

Such formula wun even work. Back in the 1990s, road usage i.e.
ERP was low, but road tax and COE was ex. So it became a deterrant
to people to even think of owning 1 car. You own liao, using it
would become natural.

Tat's why eventually gotta find a way to get more to take taxis,
be it fare or somewhat the system.

Exactly. I'd be looking at the brother for a potential
security breach.

Second, as GC or DO I would have been reprimanding the guard -
for wasting that much time talking to this chick. All he had
to do was say, "No IC no entry" and be done with it.

Third, the kid was most likely an NS man. He's one of the
unwilling, going into the unknown to do the unnecessary for the
ungrateful, and here you have a sanctimonious little peahen trying

facility. Really now, who owes who an apology?

70 year old breast cancer patient jumped to her death due to replied by deepak.c @ Sat, 21 Nov 2009 08:06:27 +0800

Originally posted by Seowlah:

From MOH's website

"Medifund is an endowment fund set up by the Government to help
needy Singaporeans who are unable to pay for their medical
expenses. Medifund acts as a safety net for those who cannot afford
the subsidised bill charges, despite Medisave and MediShield
coverage. Set up in April 1993 with an initial capital of S$200
million, the Government will inject capital into the fund when
budget surpluses are available. The Government utilises the
interest income from the capital sum, which stands at S$1.66
billion (FY 2008), to help needy patients who have exhausted all
other means to pay their medical bills."

It's good to show all these figures, but how effective is
it?

If it's all that effective then this old lady and the old uncle
won't have taken their own lives.

I also have an endowment fund to help the needy, those that are
totally penniless, you believe me?

Actually those that qualify for these kind of endowment are
probably to the extent of beggars (with no house or anything), it
doesn't include those that have flats and jobs, which will probably
end up bankrupt after being stricken by a terminal disease. That's
why this old lady knowing that she will end up a financial burden
took her own life. I would have done the same in Singapore. And
they tell us that medical expenses are affordable in Singapore.

That buses with CCTV cameras installed has the new sticker "CCTV IN

Are civilians wanting to pass things to someone in camp even
allowed to enter the camp?

In the past, i never allow civilians into camp for such a reason
except those who are driving into camp to fetch their spouse. Those
who want to pass something to anyone, normally we call the person
to come down to the guard room and they pass each other the stuff
at the gate with the NSF inside camp and the civilian outside
camp.

Anyway the person was doing his job and its just a matter of
attitude which is mostly just going to get him a verbal warning
only.

:

-- Smile and Wave at me
-- Ignored and continue driving
amazed and shocked.

Not all BCs will have the same concept. But however, you still
had to deal with those nasty BCs who are well-concerned and amazed
about taking bus pixs. Please don't think that all BCs are very
nice and courteous to you, sometime he might stop the bus (either
at traffic junction or approaching the bus stop) and question
you.

sought-after jobs in Singapore. However, have you all seen rich

polite.

Actually passing something to a person who is staying in camp is
not a valid reason to enter the camp, in the first place.

The boy may not study much so his language capability is
limited. Forgive him blah.

I BET HIS TONE WOULD BE POLITE IF U HAD A MINISKIRT N LONG
LEGS.

maybe he would let u feel his rifle and personally take u ona
tour around his camp if u shook yer backside or something.....

why cant they just have normal guards instead.

how many gold bars 99.99% pure can u get with money u are
spending on your education to earn more money?how many gold
bars!?

even after spending that kinda time and $$$ on education....do u
think u would even get a job in spore with your distance learning
degree??in the past it would be ok but there are a million
foreigners in singapore...all with degrees from university of
bangladesh to swatow mandarin orange university.yes...about a
million or more and more coming in next year due to better economic
prospects in spore!how much do u think your pay would be with a
degree to mr loo from yangtze university who is willing to werk for
$1500/month or free even for 3 months for company.big mnc would pay
at least $2k/mth for 5 years experience if they keep hiring those
from china,india,bangla,phiillippine etc etc university.

what about your 1 million fellow sporeans all from NUS,NTU etc
with degrees too.what about those sporeans who went to europe, usa
and canada for their degree?and what bout those older degree
holders that are switching jobs?

and what about those other peoplle from malaysia...they also
have good degrees from england and very good universities
worldwide.then what about those wealthy chinese people from brunei
and indonesia who studied RMIT and USA???

you have competitors WITH DEGREES from:

CHEAPER COUNTRIES-------CHINA
,INDIA,BURMA,PHIILLIPPINES,BANGLADESH(MOST SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH WITH
SOME ACCENT...SOME WITH AMERICAN ACCENT...BUT THEY ARE STILL

DEVELOPED COUNTRIES-------USA AND OTHER DEVELOPED
COUNTRIES(1000?)

WHAT CHANCE DO U HAVE?CAN IT SEE TO IT YER EDUCATION WOULD BE
WORTHWHILE AFTER ALL THE CASH SPENT ON IT?HOW IS YER RESUME GOIING
TO BE RETRIEVED AT EACH MNC HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICE WHEN ITS FLOODED
BY MILLIONS OF RESUME BY FOREIGN N DOMESTIC JOB APPLICANTS.YOU CAN
ACTUALLY SWIM AMONGST THE RESUME IF THEEY ARE ALL FLUFFED UP AND
THROWN INTO AN EMPTY SWIMMING POOL.

HOW MANY GOLD BARS ARE U GOIN TO BUY AFTER ALL THAT EDUCATION
AND KNOWING FULL WELL THERE WONT BE MUCH OF A COMPANY
INCREMENT EVEN IF THE BOSS TOOK OFF HIS PANTS AND SHOWED U HE
IS SINCERE TO U AND STUFF.
